Difference between cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting...

Updated: May 28, 2020

Some people would get confused with cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting. When cleaning service providers are advertising their services, they would use those terms interchangeably. Actually, those are three different concepts in the cleaning field. Next time, when your house cleaner tells you about his/her sanitizing or disinfecting service, make sure to check if the promised service is properly carried out in your house.

  • Cleaning is a process of removing the visible and detectable dust, debris, and dirt from a surface. The cleanser is applied during this process to effectively produce the result;

  • Sanitizing has been overly advertised. Most of cleaning service providers claim sanitizing is included in their cleaning process. However, when the house or business owner inquires about what and how most likely they will remain mumbling because it is hard to distinguish the difference between cleaning and sanitizing. When the hard surface is cleaned, sanitizing is to reduce bacteria and virus on that surface;

  • Disinfecting takes cleaning into the highest level, which is a process of killing bacteria and viruses. Before the pandemic, you probably can only hear this term in the hospital cleaning or sterilizing process. Now, disinfecting is becoming more common for preventing the spread of the COVID-19, and it is the right option to achieve the goal. Keeping your home and business place regularly cleaned and disinfected can definitely prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other viruses.

Hire a professional team to take care this cleaning task for you, so you can invest the time on yourselves, family and career.
